CMS Sofia Lawyers Partnership is looking to recruit for its office in Sofia a highly motivated person for the position of
Litigation Lawyer (Ref: LL)
Responsibilities:
• Represent clients in court and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, primarily regarding corporate and commercial disputes.
• Communicating with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns and providing them with advice.
• Developing strategies to resolve cases favourably and cost-effectively for clients.
• Explaining legal options to clients and bringing possible outcomes or threats to their attention.
• Building relationships with clients based on trust.
• Developing arguments and representing clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Adhering to a consistent schedule of hearings, court appearances, and case-related conferences.
• Preparing legal documents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Preparing case file documents.
• Staying informed about current legislation, especially concerning legal specialties. Assessing the possible outcome of forthcoming legislative amendments.
• Supporting clients by providing legal guidance and advice in different aspects of their activities, drafting and revising company documents, policies and agreements.
Requirements:
• Master degree in Law.
• Admission to a bar in Bulgaria.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a law firm or business environment.
• Minimum 3-year experience in civil litigation.
• Excellent knowledge of Bulgarian and in English, both verbal and written; public speaking skills.
• Skills of persuasion and negotiation.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.
• Ability to work independently or with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Excellent computer skills (including typing skills).
• Experience in a particular area of civil/commercial law would be a plus – Insurance, Competition, IP, Employment, Real Estate etc.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
• Adaptability and attention to detail.
